There are players currently on a PWHL roster, divided between six teams. Below is a list of all of the out gay players, and what team they’re on. For my purposes “out” is defined by being public about a relationship/sexuality on social media, or female about it in are percentage. The PWHL is breaking records and embracing LGBTQ+ inclusion, with out lesbian athletes leading the way in pro women’s hockey.

Just curious to know how many/which players are confirmed (not interested in speculation) members of the LGBTQ+ community. These are the only ones I could easily find, from a listicle about gay winter olympians (listed in alphabetical order by last name). As Pride month winds down, we look at how well women's hockey leagues and teams have embraced LGBTQ+ players and fans and where they could step up their efforts. More and more prominent female Olympic players are coming out of the closet – and Adam Gay says it's fantastic to see hockey evolving and improving how it deals with sexuality in the sport.

Nontraditional markets are seductive and a great way to reach new fans of the sport, but there's a lack of care that could turn established fans, especially those who are vulnerable to bigotry, away from attending events.

Other players have been quieter in their assertions, but their social media posts display beautiful, happy queer relationships.
